Solar

The largest single source of sustainable energy we can harness is the sun. A recent Electronic Trend Publication (ETP) analysis of the solar market points out that “OEM [solar] suppliers will begin to look outside their own manufacturing facilities to find trustworthy, compatible partners with whom they can align to fulfill demand. Outsourcing to [EMS providers] is a logical solution for solar OEMs, as it has been for many other consumer and industrial electronics products.”^*

Wind

Sanmina-SCI offers design, manufacturing, and logistics and repair services for wind turbine projects. We provide our customers with as much support as their project requires, delivering cost-effective manufacturing proposals geared to meet their most time-critical schedules.

Specific areas where Sanmina-SCI can support wind turbine companies include:

• Wind turbine electro-mechanical equipment manufacturing
• Wind turbine sub-system assembly such as pitch control modules
• Wind turbine power electronics, control, monitoring and instrumentation

Our facilities in North America, Asia and Europe offer highly trained teams and world-class manufacturing processes for the assembly of components, precision machining and full-system wind turbine subsystem assembly. All critical wind turbine subsystems produced by Sanmina-SCI undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet the quality and certification needs defined by the customer.

Fuel Cell & Clean Tech

Although not new in concept, fuel cells have received considerable attention for their potential as a clean and reliable source of energy for low (>5kw) and medium (>100kw) power customers. Sanmina-SCI has been working with major fuel cell start-ups for more than two years, in turn gaining valuable first-hand knowledge of fuel cell system requirements. As an example, we have successfully met our customers’ cost and quality needs for their end users in North America using our manufacturing facilities in China to deliver lower component and sub-system cost in a highly competitive market.

In the clean tech sector, Sanmina-SCI is partnering with LED and smart grid companies helping ensure their products meet cost, manufacturing and quality requirements.
